One of the next steps is to remove the nasal feeding tube, and replace it with a stent, possibly Wednesday or Thursday. The stent will be between the cancer and food. It may reduce the problems of vomiting, pain and acidity. Meanwhile the doctor, the hospital nutritionists and I have agreed that the nasal tube provides a significant portion of the nutritional benefits. The very tiny number of extra nutrients probably provided by "normal" foods are not worth the distress of the process. We have agreed to pause the extra oral nutrients and to raise IV rates of delivery to compensate. Thanks for the understanding of the medical community.

Ann points out that the hospital gown which she wears is a pediatric one due to the weight that she has lost. This is evident in an earlier photo of her wearing another of her granddaughter's outfits:
